The movie we’ve seen is about a young boy called Oliver Twist, who doesn’t have any parents. Oliver lives in the tough 1800s United Kingdom. He was born in a small town called Portsea in southern England. His mother died at Olivers birth, and no one knows anything about his father. He got his name “Oliver Twist” when he enters the city's almshouse.

When all the boys who at the almshouse raffle about who’s going to ask the leaders about more food, Oliver takes the shortest cord. Next day when everyone have eaten they’re food, Oliver walks to the leaders and asks for more food. Oliver immediately gets into jail.
Some people decides to make Oliver to a disciple and send him to man who works as a funeral director, and he starts to work and help him. Oliver like the people, except another disciple. The boys gets mad at each other, and the other disciple is calling Oliver’s mum mean things. Oliver gets really mad at the boy. He attacks him and beat him in his face.

Oliver decides to run away. He packs all his stuff and starts to London during the night. It’s a very long way to go, but he’ve decided to go all this way.
After some days, when Oliver is in London, he’s totally exhausted. A boy called ‘Dodger’ (his real name is Jack) who’s just a few years older than himself is a pickpocket, sees Oliver sitting on a step. He asks Oliver if he want a place to sleep at over the night. Oliver says yes, and from that moment his life in London won’t be the same. Dodger promises Oliver that he’ll get a new home at Mr. Fagin’s place. At first, Oliver likes to live with Fagin and the other boys are good, but not for long.

When Oliver one day innocently accuses for pilfering a man called Mr. Brownlow helps him free.  Mr. Brownlow take Oliver with him home to his big and nice house, and he lets Oliver live there. Oliver feels better than ever and he’s very happy, but everything changes when he gets kidnapped by Mr. Sikes, one of Fagin's ‘friends’. Mr. Sikes quickly decides that he wants Oliver to help him to make bruglary Mr. Brownlow’s house.

He takes Oliver with him, Oliver knows the way to the house, and how it looks inside. When Mr. Brownlow and his wife hears that someone’s in their house, Mr. Sikes starts to shoot with his pistol. Mr. Brownlow starts to shoot with his rifle, and in the middle of the fight, Oliver gets hit. He gets weak, and doesn’t feel very well.
Everyone flee from the house and run away. A girl called Nancy, who’s friend with both Fagin and Sikes, wants to help Oliver, and takes contact with Mr. Brownlow.
One night they meet up on a bridge, and Nancy tells Mr. Brownlow about everything that happened to Oliver, and that he feels good. Also, she tells him that he have to tell the police about Fagin, and that he has Oliver.

Dodger followed Nancy to the bridge, and he tells Mr. Sikes everything about Nancy’s speech with Mr. Brownlow. Mr. Sikes walks straight home to his place, and there he kills Nancy. Now when Mr. Sikes and Fagin knows that the police search for them they flee.

The people and police find Mr. Sikes they want to shoot him, and also save Oliver. He take Oliver with him up to the roof. With the crowd and the police down on the yard looking after them with ther hearts in their throats. They continue to climb an they’re coming to a ledge where the police starts to shoot, and Mr. Brownlow force his way to the front to tell them to stop. They can hit Oliver, and that’s not what he wants to. Mr. Sikes take a rope and make a loop of it. He takes it around his body and take Oliver in his hands and swing over to the other side. He lefts Oliver on the other side, and when he’s about to take the rope of his body, he sees his dog on the other side. The dog starts to bark, and Mr. Sikes gets so schoked that he falls with the rope around his neck. He hangs himlsef.
